Sheehey is pleased to announce that Justin A. Brown has recently joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s litigation group.  Justin is a 2009 graduate of Vermont Law School, and he completed a clerkship with Judge Peter W. Hall on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Justin has five years of experience in litigation at the Boston office of the global law firm DLA Piper LLP (US).

Justin has represented clients in complex business disputes, health care fraud, and land-use litigation.  Justin’s practice at Sheehey focuses on complex civil litigation, white collar and felony criminal defense, and internal investigations.

Jim Spink, a partner and shareholder at the firm, has been recognized by Best Lawyers as “Lawyer of the Year” in the practice area of mediation in the Burlington, Vermont region.  Jim is recognized by Best Lawyers in a variety of practice areas, including mediation, arbitration, and personal injury litigation.  Jim will be featured in the 23^rd edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Sheehey attorney Daphne Moritz will give a presentation on legal ethics as they relate to guardianships at a CLE on September 21, 2016 entitled “Guardianships from Start to Finish.” The CLE will be held at the Best Western Inn and Conference Center in South Burlington, Vermont and will offer 6 hours of credit, including 1 hour of ethics credit. Daphne joined Sheehey earlier this year and she is of counsel to the firm. She primarily practices in the areas of Estates and Trusts and Elder Law, and she is president elect of the Vermont Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She is also a member of the Thompson Senior Center Board in Woodstock. Daphne practices primarily out of the firm’s Woodstock office.
