Sheehey Sponsors VCWA International Women’s Day Networking Brunch

Sheehey Furlong & Behm is proud to announce its sponsorship of the inaugural International Women’s Day Networking Brunch hosted by the Vermont Council on World Affairs. The brunch, which will be held at the Champlain College Hawke Family Center, celebrates the influential work which women do on both the local and global scale. Its focus this year will be The Importance and Impact of Women at the Forefront of Change. Attendees will hear from Ambassador Adela Raz, Former Permanent Representative and Ambassador of Afghanistan to the United Nations and Ambassador from Afghanistan to the United States.

The brunch will be moderated by the Honorable Denise R. Johnson, who was the first woman to be appointed as a justice of the Vermont Supreme Court, and who served on that body for 21 years. The brunch will also serve as an opportunity for attendees to learn about the work the VCWA is doing to connect international visitors with various Vermont businesses and will provide networking opportunities with individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing women’s rights.

Commenting on the event, Sheehey Attorney Colette Schmidt noted, “As a woman in the legal profession, it is such a privilege to attend this impactful event. I am so fortunate to be part of a professional corporation that not only values gender equality, but insists that its members partake in these crucial discussions.”
