Biography: 

Renee joined Sheehey in January 2016 and is a principal of the firm. Her practice primarily focuses on counseling financial institutions, business and property owners, and homeowners’ associations in day-to-day operational concerns, civil business litigation matters, including evictions, foreclosures, and collections, and transactional matters, including real estate transactions and business mergers and acquisitions. She also represents clients in probate court matters.

Since 2015, Renee has been recognized by Super Lawyers magazine as one of New England’s Rising Stars in her practice areas. Renee is also recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for her work in Corporate Law.

Practice Highlights:

  • Regularly advise banking and financial services clients on regulatory compliance, loan servicing, day-to-day operations, foreclosure, and collection matters, as well as transactional matters. Representative clients: Federal National Mortgage Association, VSECU, a Division of New England Federal Credit Union, Vermont Federal Credit Union
  • Regularly represent residential and commercial landlords in eviction matters.
  • Regularly assist clients in the purchase and sale of commercial and high end residential real estate, leasing, and other real estate-related matters.
  • Regularly assist businesses with business finance and refinance matters and business sales, mergers & acquisitions. Serve as outside general counsel to business clients.
  • Represent homeowners’ associations in governance and litigation matters, including updating governing documents to ensure compliance with current law, and in foreclosure and collection matters.
  • Advise business and individual clients in guardianship and estate matters, including regularly participating in and monitoring estates on behalf of creditors to ensure payment.
