Biography:

Micaela joined the firm in May 2021 and is of counsel to the firm. Micaela’s practice is focused primarily on family law, civil litigation, criminal law and guardianships. She also handles employment matters, and regulatory issues for employers as well as matters at the intersection of multiple practice areas. She practices in both state and federal court, including appellate practice, and has represented clients before various State agencies and boards. Prior to joining Sheehey, Micaela was an associate at Hershenson, Carter, Scott & McGee, PC, the Managing Director of Research at The Dartmouth Institute, General Counsel for Irene Recovery, and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont in both the civil and criminal divisions. She began her legal career as judicial clerk to the Honorable Brian L. Burgess, Associate Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court.

Prior to law school, Micaela held positions in technology research and development, primarily managing regulatory compliance and government relations. She was the founding director of Breakthrough Houston. She has co-authored three published articles on Law and Neuroscience as well as articles on the rule of law in China and on public trust and public law in truth and reconciliation campaigns.
