Sheehey Furlong & Behm specializes in representation of regulated
industries. The firm has served for many years as primary outside counsel
for one of Vermont's major electric utilities. Our experience has included
the preparation, litigation and appeal of contested regulatory proceedings
before the Vermont Public Service Board, including complex rate litigation,
multi-party industry proceedings, rule-making and a variety of other regulatory
proceedings. Although Vermont has maintained a vertical-integration model
for electric utilities, the firm's regulatory practice lawyers have actively
participated in electric utility restructuring proceedings in Vermont
and in the New England region.
Our representation has included energy supply and marketing agreements, as well as general business and litigation matters.
In addition to our electric industry focus, the firm provides regulatory representation to health care and telecommunications providers. We have represented large and small telecommunications providers, including interexchange carriers, relating to provision of landline and cellular services, transfers of control, mergers and acquisitions, consumer service investigations, cellular tower permitting and tariff filings.
