Paul D. Sheehey (1919-2004)

Paul D. Sheehey, our senior partner, passed away in 2004. Mr. Sheehey was a fine gentleman, distinguished attorney, good husband and father, as well as a beloved friend and mentor to all at Sheehey Furlong & Behm P.C. He has left a legacy that will last for years to come.

Paul Sheehey joined the firm, then known as the law offices of A. Perley Feen, in 1949. Although he was retired, Mr. Sheehey continued to advise other members of the firm. During his career as a member of the firm, Mr. Sheehey had a broad general practice, focusing in the areas of business representation and estate-planning. He advised businesses in matters relating to business organizations, business regulation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisition, financing, purchase, sale and leasing of commercial real estate, employment agreements and other business-related matters. For many years he served as principal outside counsel to Green Mountain Power Corporation, a major Vermont investor-owned electric utility, and Mt. Mansfield Television, Inc., operator of Vermont's first commercial television station.

Mr. Sheehey is a graduate of Boston College Law School (1949) and St. Michael's College (A.B. 1941). He served for nine years (1975-1984) as a member of the Vermont Professional Conduct Board, to which he was appointed by the Vermont Supreme Court.
