Ian P. Carleton

Ian Carleton joined the firm in February 2003 and is a principal of the firm. He specializes in complex civil and criminal litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Carleton served as law clerk to the Honorable William K. Sessions, III, Chief Judge of the Federal District Court of Vermont.

From 2002 to 2007 Mr. Carleton was an elected member of the Burlington City Council, serving as Council President from 2005-2007. In 2005 he was elected State Chairman of the Vermont Democratic Party.

Mr. Carleton is a graduate of Yale Law School and Columbia College. He is admitted to practice in the State of Vermont, the Federal District Court of Vermont, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Vermont Bar Association, the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association, and serves on the Board of the Green Mountain Children's Museum.
