Jeff W. Lively joins Sheehey Furlong & Behm

Sheehey Furlong & Behm is pleased to announce that Jeff Lively has joined the firm.   Jeff brings extensive experience in both the public and the private sectors.  Most recently, he was General Counsel to the Department of Buildings & General Services, State of Vermont.  As BGS General Counsel, Jeff was responsible for providing general legal services for a department whose primary responsibilities included: procurement of all state commodities; securing lease space; designing, constructing, and maintaining state buildings; managing the state’s risk; and the purchase and sale of the state’s real property.  Before his public sector work, Jeff had a small practice in Stowe where he worked with and advised clients on business organizational matters, as well as contract, employment, financing, land use and real estate matters. Jeff has also worked with many nonprofit organizations, providing advice on formation, obtaining federal tax exempt status and on-going governance issues.

Jeff received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in ‘91, where he studied Political Science and Economics and received his J.D. from the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver in ’95 where he focused on environmental and natural resource law and wrote for the Water Law Journal.

Jeff lives in Waterbury Center with his wife Becky and two children Sam and Sage.
